Firstly there seems to be a plethera of terms encompassing cloning
---genetic engineering---gene therapy---stem cell research.
Cloning is a manipulation of our physical selves by bio and nonbiological
methods.
The painting was conceived after all the furour over " Dolly " the sheep and
the negative approach by many that this will lead to cloning of humans.
This in my view will be inevitable.
Science and technology have quantum leapt in the past 50yrs but earth's millions of ordinary people cannot accept the genetic tinkering with man. Religion plays a part the power of the pope and the vatican to supress furtherment in this area for self interests.
The fish in the painting to the right represents christianity from its mouth exude a red suited entity with a Horse Chestnut seed pod as a head. This all represents god a metaphysical entity situated in the cosmos--- man in red attire,the " Pope " and the " seed pod " sharp and untouchable represents religious dogma and conditioning.
The two heads have one eye each both have half an apple on their heads representing skull caps the hand above is manipulating them for gain. ( this is the religious conotation ) their appearance may be the same but their oppinions would be different.
The dolphins and whales in the painting are there as a parralel with man as mammals they to are under great threat of extinction. Cloning could be used to stem the annihilation of these species as a last resort. 27 thousand species a year become extinct " cloning "would be a worthy candidate in this instance. Semos a Macaque monkey for example is proof of a successful cloning but cloning humans will be more complexed and controversial and will be condemned by many as abhorrent.
The earth is egg shaped it seems to be fragmenting at the area in the centre Mainly the western seaboard of America and the european states. These areas contain the main contenders for human cloning.
The sperms are leaving the egg shaped earth and are heading toward the red lips of the entity to the left bottom corner. ( safe haven ) If a catastrophic event manfests in the mutation of cloned humans the sperm would be either destroyed or as we kmow all to well mega conglomerates covertly will exploit it .
The babys head which is unraveling is the legacy of our ancesters through evolution and science will have to be extremely careful and aware of the harnessing of natures engine of creation.
People will see and evauate that radical disruptive change is change for a better future instead of a stagnation as is the present.
In complex systems, plans are simply delusions...
