We'll let Eddie himself introduce his art:
The paintings are of a Surrealistic approach, representing a wide and varied array of topics depicting environmental and social issues on pollution, famine, civil wars, and man's inhumanity towards his fellow man. Each painting has its own theme, dissecting and invading a relevant topic and analysing its content.
Interlacing the paintings, with a positive approach, are my views on Theology, Belief and Ideology. Topics relate to nature and our living planet. Themes include climate change, de-forrestation, ozone depletion, and the dis-proportionate levels of wealth and power over the world's food chain.
I have also endeavoured to portray and bring to the forefront the hypocrisy of the mega-conglomerates, in their quest to maintain high levels of profit for their faceless share holders. These people have knowingly had total disregard for the Earth's resources, culminating in their participation in the despoiling of our Earth's outstanding natural beauty, pollution of the oceans, the erosion of wildlife habitats and ecosystems, and undoubtedly species annihilations.
There are points based on the world economies as they edge toward bankruptcy and decay, not forgetting also the growing mistrust between nations as they race for supremacy. These paintings are based on ongoing situations, and the problems illustrated are still present with us in the world today.
Even though these paintings portray a sense of doom and gloom they are colourful and vibrant. Their content has often been described as organised chaos, they exude with symbolism and hidden meaning.
The paintings are my own statement, a visual encounter amassed through the media, on world events as they unfold. All the canvasses are painted and are of various sizes up to 6 foot by 4 foot or more.
