Ayrton Senna 1960-1994. Brazilian motor-racing driver.
He won his first Grand Prix in Portugal 1985 and won 41 Gran Prix in 161 starts,
including a record six wins at Monaco.
Senna was world champion in 1988, 1990 and 1991. He was killed at the 1994
San Marino Grand Prix at Imola.
Not only was it a loss for his own nation Brazil the whole world was in mourning,
Tributes recognizing his genius not only as a racing driver but as a fine human being
arrived from every corner of the globe.

Complexity comment:
Achievement in any human field generates admiration, yet we should bear in mind that
each of us achieves much daily. Whether this achievement is positive (synergic) or negative
(dysergic) in terms of our fellow humans depends on our attitude to other people and to the environment we all occupy. Cooperation, even within a competitive sport, leads to group success, and we have no need to 'knife in the back' those with whom we work in order to 'get to the top'. Leaving a trail of destruction in our wake (whether shattered lives or planet) is not, in any sense, a success story.
Personal success is, in any case, such an ephemeral thing...
